„Ein Symbol für den Frieden“
Am Freitag, den 25. Juli, Gorizia/Nova Gorica um 17:30 Uhr auf dem Platz der Transalpina/Trg Evrope unterzeichneten die Vertreter der Panathlon Clubs von Kärnten (Michael Ausserwinkler), Friaul-Julisch Venetien (Andrea Ceccotti) 
und Slowenien (Miran Müllner) eine gemeinsame Erklärung der Zusammenarbeit und starteten einen Ideenwettbewerb.
Mit ihnen waren die Bürgermeister der Gemeinden der drei Grenzen: Reinhard Antolitsch (Arnoldstein), Henrika Zupan (Kranjska Gora) und Renzo Zanette (Tarvisio). Die 
Panathlon Clubs des Friaul waren stark vertreten, mit Margherita Alciati vom Panathlon Udine, Andrea Volpe Präsident des Panathlon Gorizia und Roberto Palmieri vom Panathlon Alto Friuli, während für Trieste Muggia Matteo Contessa mit mehreren Mitgliedern anwesend war. Warm begrüßt wurde die Teilnahme des Präsidenten von Ansmes (Stars for Sports Merit). Der Präsident von Panathlon International, Rechtsanwalt Giorgio Chinellato, sandte seine Glückwünsche für die Initiative, die vollständig Teil des Projektrahmens von Panathlon ist, und kündigte seine Schirmherrschaft an. Der Präsident des Panathlon Italien Distrikts, Giorgio Costa, betonte ihre Bedeutung besonders in diesem Moment. Es ist eine Aktion, die die große Botschaft von GO!2025 fortsetzt, möglich dank der Unterstützung der Bürgermeister Samo Turel und Rodolfo Ziberna und der Gastfreundschaft der ASD LIBERTAS UDINE, Organisatorin von „Jumping Overcoming Boundaries“.
Ein historischer Kreuzweg von Völkern, Sprachen und Kulturen, ein Schatzkasten einzigartiger Exzellenzen, ist das Gebiet von Gorizia das konkrete Beispiel dafür, wie eine Grenze, einst Zeugin der Tragödien des 20. Jahrhunderts, heute zu einem Symbol der Kohäsion und internationalen Zusammenarbeit geworden ist. Das Ergebnis, das Gorizia zusammen mit Nova Gorica mit GO!2025 erreicht hat, der ersten grenzüberschreitenden Europäischen Kulturhauptstadt der Geschichte, ist unglaublich. Schritt für Schritt hat der Dialog über den Konflikt, der Frieden über den Krieg und die Zukunft der jungen Generationen über die Ressentiments der Vergangenheit gesiegt.
Der Ideenwettbewerb, offen für Künstler, Architekten, Designer, Studenten, Schulen, kulturelle und sportliche Vereinigungen sowie Bürger, ist für Vorschläge zur Schaffung einer sichtbaren und zugänglichen Darstellung der Rolle von Sport und Kultur beim Aufbau des Zusammenlebens. Der vorgesehene Ort ist der Berg Dreiländereck – Tromeja – Forno. Ein Ort, wo sich drei große europäische Völker treffen und der, von einer trennenden Grenze, zu einem Punkt des Treffens, der Zusammenarbeit und der gemeinsamen Vision geworden ist. Das Projekt ist eine Einladung, daran zu erinnern, dass „der Frieden ein aktiver Prozess ist“, an dem Sport und Gemeinschaftskultur, nach einer tragischen Vergangenheit von Kriegen und Leiden, täglich in gegenseitigem Respekt der Einzigartigkeit des anderen zusammenarbeiten.

Die Initiative beginnt im Jahr 2025, einem Jahr, das mehrere Jahrestage von Sportinitiativen im Geist von „Alpe-Adria“ markiert: • 45. Jahrestag der Geburt des SKI TOUR3, der ersten Sportveranstaltung, die für einen Tag die Grenzen zwischen Österreich, Italien und Slowenien aufhob; • 40. Jahrestag der Unterzeichnung des Vorschlags einer gemeinsamen Bewerbung für die Olympischen Winterspiele durch die Bürgermeister von Villach, Jesenice und Tarvisio; • 30. Jahrestag der ersten Bewerbung für die „Grenzenlosen“ Olympischen Winterspiele, die vom IOC angenommen wurde.
Sie wird 2028 enden, zusammenfallend mit historischen Meilensteinen Europas: • 80 Jahre seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs; • 40 Jahre seit der Unterzeichnung des Schengener Abkommens und der Schaffung der EU-Flagge; • 30 Jahre seit dem Eintritt Österreichs und 21 Jahre seit dem Eintritt Sloweniens in die EU. Und im ersten Halbjahr wird der Vorsitz des Rates der EU von einem unserer drei Länder übernommen: Italien.
“A symbol for Peace” On Friday, July 25, Gorizia/Nova Gorica at 5:30 p.m. in Transalpina Square/Trg Evrope, representatives of the Panathlon Clubs of Kärnten (Michael Ausserwinkler), Friuli Venezia Giulia (Andrea Ceccotti), and Slovenija (Miran Müllner) signed a joint declaration of cooperation and launched a call for ideas. With them were the mayors of the municipalities of the three borders: Reinhard Antolitsch (Arnoldstein), Henrika Zupan (Kranjska gora), and Renzo Zanette (Tarvisio). The Panathlon clubs of Friuli were well represented, with Margherita Alciati from Panathlon Udine, Andrea Volpe president of Panathlon Gorizia, and Roberto Palmieri from Panathlon Alto Friuli, while for Trieste Muggia Matteo Contessa was present with several members. A historical crossroads of peoples, languages, and cultures, a treasure chest of unique excellence, the Gorizia area is the concrete example of how a border, once a witness to the tragedies of the 20th century, has today become a symbol of cohesion and international cooperation. The result obtained by Gorizia together with Nova Gorica with GO! 2025, the first cross-border European Capital of Culture in history, is incredible. Step by step, dialogue has triumphed over conflict, peace over war, and the future of young generations over the resentment of the past.
The call for ideas, open to artists, architects, designers, students, schools, cultural and sports associations as well as citizens, is for proposals to create a visible and accessible representation of the role of sport and culture in building coexistence. The designated place is Mount Dreiländereck – Tromeja – Forno. A location where three great European peoples meet and which, from being a dividing border, has become a point of encounter, collaboration, and shared vision. The project is an invitation to remember that “peace is an active process,” in which sport and community culture, after a tragic past of wars and suffering, collaborate daily in mutual respect of each other’s uniqueness.

The initiative begins in 2025, a year marking several anniversaries of sports initiatives in the spirit of “Alpe-Adria”: • 45th anniversary of the birth of SKI TOUR3, the first sporting event that for one day erased the borders between Austria, Italy, and Slovenia; • 40th anniversary of the signing of the joint candidacy proposal for the Winter Olympic Games by the mayors of Villach, Jesenice, and Tarvisio; • 30th anniversary of the first candidacy for the “Borderless” Winter Olympic Games accepted by the IOC.
It will conclude in 2028, coinciding with historic milestones in Europe: • 80 years since the end of World War II; • 40 years since the signing of the Schengen Agreement and the creation of the EU flag; • 30 years since Austria’s entry and 21 years since Slovenia’s entry into the EU. And during the first semester, the presidency of the EU Council will be held by one of our three countries: Italy.
